Priestess Moon

Author, Artist

Priestess Moon is a West Australian artist with five solo exhibitions to her name, as well as numerous group exhibitions. Her artwork is renowned as colourful, decorative and highly symbolic, created to bring moments of enchantment to the viewer. Priestess Moon works with universal symbols, bringing them into a modern context and adding her own ideas and insights. Many of her artworks incorporate gold leaf in an application method surviving since ancient Egyptian times.

After a completing a Bachelor of Arts in Design, a life changing move to Scotland to visit the land of her ancestors saw Priestess Moon discovering Celtic paganism, and with it, the spirituality of the natural world. Bringing this mysticism into her art and writing, her works have strong links to illuminated manuscripts, herbal codex’s, and magickal grimoires. Priestess Moon’s artworks contain special symbols that act as ‘energy’ tools, designed to evoke certain qualities, such as peace, protection and prosperity.

One of Priestess Moon’s ongoing interests is researching the magickal properties of herbs and spices to create delicious, yet effective enchantments by performing ‘Kitchen Witch’ magick. At the age of ten, Priestess Moon wrote a book called “Witch’s Magical Spells.” It contained a variety of spells, written in the style of cooking recipes, complete with illustrations and lashings of sequins and glitter. So, you could say Priestess Moon’s curiosity about spell work and herbal recipes (and glitter) is more than a passing interest!

Today, Priestess Moon runs an art and design business, which specialises in bespoke artworks, handmade spells, Sabbat cards and oracle decks.
