Camphor oil is extremely potent in action and odour, with a long history of use as a medicine, insect repellent, deodorant and flavouring. Synthetic Camphor is a key ingredient in the ‘Vicks VapoRub’.

FOR THE BODY - Camphor is a pungent decongestant and antimicrobial, used as an inhalation or in a chest rub to help ease tight coughs, nasal, sinus or chest congestion, and open up the airways. Used in a balm it helps with joint and muscle pain and stimulates circulation to ease stiffness. Its analgesic properties are also useful for neuralgia.

FOR THE HOME - Camphor is used as an insect repellent to repel moths in closets and when storing clothes and blankets (Camphor chests, made from Camphor wood, were used to store and transport tea and fabrics from China).

BLENDS WELL WITH - Basil, Cajeput, Chamomile, Lavender, Melissa (Lemon Balm), and Rosemary.
