The Quest from Healing the Inner Child Oracle by Nina Mongendre and EdieArt.
Invitation: Life invites us on a sacred journey the moment we arrive in the world. Along the way, we encounter trials that ask us to meet them not with fear, but with courage—the quiet kind. The kind that shows up in the smallest moments: when we choose presence over reaction, compassion over withdrawal, truth over silence. This card asks us to pause and look again at the path we’re walking. What are we truly here for? What vision have we carried quietly in our hearts since childhood—for our lives, for the world, for the Earth herself? What did we once dream for the whole of humanity? No act of love or kindness is too small. Every word, every gesture, every moment of care contributes to the great unfolding. You matter. Your choices ripple outward. This is your quest: to live in alignment with your heart, to be brave enough to keep showing up. Not perfectly, but presently.
Inner Child: Close your eyes and remember a time when you imagined yourself as a brave adventurer. Maybe you were armed with nothing but a stick and your imagination, searching for hidden treasure or rescuing creatures in need. What were you really seeking? Now look at your life. See how far you've come. Honour the resilience that brought you here. Say to your younger self: "I honour your courage. You did your best, and that was more than enough for me."
Journey: With gentleness and truth, imagine your future self looking back. What might they regret? What would they wish you'd done differently? Write those things down—but don’t stop there. Transform them. Shift them into the present. Bring your dreams into now. For example: “My life wasn’t a complete success because I didn’t follow my creative passions.” Becomes: “I follow my creative passions and let them shape a meaningful life.” Let each statement be a new step on your quest.
The Charms: Crescent Moon – A symbol of the unknown path ahead. The Crescent Moon invites you to trust what is still forming. It holds the quiet promise that even in darkness, you are guided. You may not see the full picture yet, but each step matters.
The Sun (Tarot) – The Sun lights your path with clarity and warmth. It reminds you that joy is not separate from the quest—it is part of it. Let yourself be seen. Let yourself feel proud. This card brings energy and encouragement when the way forward feels long.
Tree – The Tree speaks of inner strength and steady growth. It reminds you that you are rooted in something deep and true. With every season, you’ve endured, stretched, and become more of who you really are. This charm asks you to honour how far you’ve come, and to keep reaching.
You are already on the path. Keep going.
Grief from Healing the Inner Child Oracle by Nina Mongendre and EdieArt.
Initiation: There is no life without grief. To be alive is to experience moments of pain, change, and loss. Grief gives us compassion. It brings vibrancy to existence. Yet it is also deeply painful. It can isolate us or bring us closer together. There is no right way to grieve. We grieve for people, moments, and live lives in faraway dreams. This card invites you to give a place to your sorrow, to allow some time and tenderness as you allow grief to reveal its gifts.
Inner Child: Take some slow nourishing breaths as you connect with the sadness and grief your inner child might be experiencing in this moment. Who or what is your younger self grieving? Grief does not have to make sense and it isn't comparative. Your inner child's grief over the loss of a pet or moving isn't less than your adult grieving over the loss of a parent or grandparent. Hold space for your inner child's sadness and stay open to what is needed. They might need an embrace, words of comfort, or simply for you to sit with them as they allow sadness to pour forth. Holding space without judgement or advice is the self we apply to the grieving heart. Reassure your inner child by saying, I will stay with you. Ask the child if they would like to come with you when they are ready.
Journey: We too will move on one day and leave behind us the memory of how deeply we loved and were loved. Feel into the ways grief has made you a softer, more loving person. The card, this card invites you to breathe in the gifts of grief and wonder if it's mysterious ways. As Bethany Weber shares in Discovering the Inner Mother, the more loving we allow ourselves to grieve, the more space is created in our lives for magic, beauty, and joy. Look at this card as you take a few long, slow, nourishing breaths. Notice where you are drawn. How does it feel to observe the shimmering light emerging from the dead body of the deer?
The Charms.
Treble Note: Your voice matters. Your pain has a sound — it wants to be sung, not silenced. This is you reclaiming your song, your expression, your emotional truth. Let your voice ring clear, even if it trembles.
The Pumpkin Carriage: The Cinderella symbolism runs deep. You were the one doing the emotional labour, the quiet work, the unseen nurturing — while others seemed to be gifted ease. This charm says: You’re not in the ashes anymore. You are the magic. No fairy godmother is coming — because the magic has always lived in you.
The Spanner: This is the tool in your hand. You’re not just grieving — you’re repairing. You’re tightening the loose parts, dismantling what no longer serves, and beginning the sacred work of putting yourself back together in your own design. It’s gritty, grounded, practical healing. You’re not waiting for someone else to fix it. You’re doing it yourself. And that is power.
The Number One: You are your own beginning now. You come first. Not in a selfish way — but in a soul-healing, rebalancing way. This is your reset. You’re rewriting the story, with you at the centre — no longer a background character in someone else’s tale.
Persona from Healing the Inner Child Oracle by Nina Mongendre and EdieArt.
Invitation: As children become young adults, they develop a keen awareness of what is acceptable, appropriate, and appreciated by the outside world. We begin wearing masks—shifting who we are to please, to rebel, to belong. Perhaps you wore the mask of the nice girl, the overachiever, the troublemaker. Each persona served a purpose, but the journey of reparenting asks us to return to authenticity.
In tribal societies, masks were not used to hide, but to reveal—to call in the spirits, to open the door to what lies beneath the surface. This card invites you to look at how you use your persona: is it a costume, or a channel? What parts of you are still hidden behind the mask?
Inner child: Between the ages of 6 and 12, the persona begins to form as we engage with the world. Ask your child self: did you play a part to gain love, attention, or safety? When did the role start to feel uncomfortable or untrue? And is there a part of you still performing?
Gently affirm: I love you exactly as you are. You do not have to hide to be loved.
The Journey: Look at the image on the card and allow memories from across your life to surface—snapshots of you wearing different masks. Which felt empowering? Which were heavy? What parts of yourself were hidden behind them? Are there times now where you're saying yes when you mean no? Take a moment to breathe deeply and reconnect with the unchanging, steady self that exists beneath it all. That part is always real. That part is always enough.
Charms: Libra calls in balance—between who you’ve been and who you truly are, between pleasing others and honouring your truth. The Howling Wolf urges you to express what’s been silenced. Let your true voice rise, unmasked and wild. And the Mouse reminds you to notice the small, subtle ways you shift yourself in daily life. Even tiny masks can become heavy over time.
Safety from the Healing the Inner Child Oracle by Nina Mongendre, illustrated by EdieArt
The Invitation: Many of us did not grow up feeling truly safe. Perhaps you lived in an environment where your physical or emotional wellbeing was uncertain. Maybe there wasn’t a consistent adult you could turn to when you felt scared, overwhelmed, or alone. When safety isn’t a given, our nervous system adapts. It stays on alert, scanning for invisible threats—even when none exist. This state of constant vigilance is deeply draining.
Take a moment to check in with your body. Do you need a glass of water? Something nourishing to eat? A warm blanket or a jumper? Tend to your needs first. Then pause. Are you safe in this moment? Feel your feet. Notice your breath. Soften your jaw. You are allowed to come home to your body.
We cannot access joy, connection, or our deepest longings while our survival brain is switched on. This card invites you to soothe your nervous system—gently and consistently—so that, over time, you begin to feel safer with your feelings. This is the ground where healing begins.
Inner Child Reflection: Can you recall a moment in childhood when you felt completely safe—at ease and protected, like the child in this image? Maybe it was lying in the sun, cuddled up beside someone you trusted, or feeling held by nature. If no memory comes, simply step into this card.
Imagine yourself as the child beneath the rainbow-crowned tree. Feel the soft grass, the warmth of the sun, the hush of foxes and sheep sleeping nearby. Let your senses come alive as you breathe, gently lengthening your exhalation. Say aloud: "We are safe. This is safe".
The Journey: Place your hands behind your neck and interlace your fingers, just like the child in the image. Let yourself lean back. Without turning your head, bring your eyes all the way to the left. Breathe here. Wait for your body to release—perhaps with a sigh, a yawn, a swallow.
Then slowly bring your eyes to the right and breathe again. Wait. When the body has responded, return to centre. Take a long, deep inhale. Hold it briefly. Then exhale and release your arms. This simple practice can be used anytime you want to return to presence, grounding, and calm. You are allowed to feel safe now.
Charms: The Wheel of Fortune & the Dope Leaf
The Wheel reminds you that nothing is fixed. You are not stuck where you began. Life moves in cycles, and something is shifting in your favour.
The Dope Leaf offers a moment to soften, to surrender the pressure, and allow your body to rest. It speaks of letting go of hyper-vigilance and returning to a more peaceful, present state of being.
Dracones Loqui Oracle is an extraordinary deck that offers far more than daily inspiration — it’s a deep, transformative experience. From the moment I began working with it, I felt I was entering sacred conversation with something much greater than myself. This deck invites you to commune with celestial dragons — Lux, Terra, and Umbra — each offering their own distinct voice and perspective.
Lux guides with compassion and light, gently illuminating the way with love and understanding. Terra brings grounding, practical wisdom to help navigate life with grace and resilience. Umbra, the shadow guardian, is powerful and uncompromising — offering tough love that asks you to face what you'd rather avoid, so you can emerge stronger and more radiant. Together, these dragons form a triad of wisdom that is both comforting and profound. Their presence is protective, loving, and unwavering — like wings outstretched in the storm.
The production quality of the deck is outstanding. The round cards are a joy to work with — unique, symbolic, and full of movement. The sigils on each card add an energetic depth, almost like keys unlocking hidden truths. The cardstock is beautiful to handle, and the gold detailing brings a touch of sacredness to the experience. It’s a deck that feels both ancient and fresh, wild and wise.
The accompanying guidebook is simply exquisite — full-colour images and a layout that feels intuitive and enriching. I especially love that each card includes an affirmation followed by individual messages from all three dragons. The depth of insight here is immense — this isn’t just a light daily draw kind of deck (though it can be used that way). It goes deep. If you’re already in a heavy emotional space, you may want to draw from something gentler — but if you’re ready to face truth, transformation, and self-discovery, this deck meets you where you are and calls you forward.
I’ve worked with Raewyn Phelan’s other decks — Messenger Oracle, Dreams of Gaia Tarot, and Seeker’s Oracle — and if you love those, you’ll adore this one. It’s the most profound and soul-stirring of them all, in my opinion.
I’ve truly enjoyed working with Dracones Loqui this past week, and I know I’ll return to it again and again for its clarity, depth, and sacred power. I now know these dragons will be with me, always just a breath away.
For the coming week, I have chosen to work with the Healing the Inner Child Oracle

by Nina Mongendre, illustrated by EdieArt, and I’m excited to see what that journey brings.
Affirmation: I have it within me to transcend limitations, rising above challenges with grace and strength. Through transcendence, I unlock the boundless potential within me, journeying beyond the confines of pain, fear, and doubt.
Lux shines: To transcend is to step free of the desire of the material world and create a profound connection with the divine. It is like diving into the depths of your soul and discovering an infinite wellspring of love, wisdom, and light. In this state, you feel a sense of oneness with all of creation, as if you are merging with the heart of the universe. Time and space lose their hold, and you are enveloped in the boundless expanse of pure consciousness.
This is not escape — it is sacred return. A remembering. A rising. In transcendence, you awaken to the sacredness of life and the eternal presence of the divine within and around you. It transforms not just your perspective, but your presence.
Terra speaks: To transcend a painful past, begin by acknowledging and honouring your experience without letting it define you. Practice self-compassion and forgiveness, both for yourself and others. Tend to your healing through journaling, therapy, reflection — through truth. Find the gold in what you’ve survived.
Let yourself feel grateful — not for the wound, but for the strength it grew in you. Choose presence. Choose love. Choose to live in the now, open-hearted and strong. Remember, transcendence doesn’t erase the story. It changes your relationship to it. You rise not in spite of it, but because of it. I love you, little dragon.
Umbra growls: Human, I sense discomfort when you read the word transcend. Why does it stir you so? Is it because you’re cozy in those worn-out habits, even if they’re dragging you under? You cling to what’s familiar, even as it stings — because it’s all you’ve ever known.
But let’s not lie to ourselves: you deserve better. You deserve more. And yet — nothing will change if you keep circling the same drain.
It’s time. Try something different. Break the pattern. Drop the excuses. Walk out of the loop and into the unknown. Let discomfort be your doorway — not your jailor.
The Charms - Wheel of Fortune: Life is in motion. The wheel reminds you that no state is permanent — not joy, not pain, not fear. Everything turns, everything changes. When paired with Transcend, this charm signals a powerful opportunity: the chance to step out of passive cycles and become a conscious participant in your own evolution. It asks you to trust the flow, even if you can’t yet see where it’s going. Let the wheel lift you — not spin you in circles.
2006: This number speaks to something rooted in the past — perhaps a belief, pattern, or memory seeded around that time, still quietly influencing your choices. In the context of Transcend, it invites you to trace your steps with compassion. What from that time still holds weight? What have you outgrown? This charm is a gentle prompt to release what no longer belongs and reclaim your power in the now.
Carved Pumpkin: This charm holds the essence of transformation — something once solid and heavy has been hollowed out and made luminous. The pumpkin, once a symbol of harvest and protection, is now cast in light, shaped into something magical. With Transcend, it speaks to the sacred process of reshaping pain into beauty. Let yourself be transformed from the inside out. What was once dark can now become a lantern.
Human, it’s time for you to transcend.
